Calvin's Minecraft Party

Here are all the boys with the Minecraft masks that I made. I printed these on my computer, with each boys alter-ego that they use in the game, using shiny brochure paper. Then I taped them to a plain cardboard box.

Had the birthday cake made at a local bakery.  I brought them a photo of a Minecraft cake and they did the rest. The kids loved it.

Day 3 - Barnaby's leave for Denmark

Today was the first day of Mom Camp. We went to the library and checked out lots of books/DVD's and CD's. Got a little something for everyone. Can't wait to listen to the Neko Case CD I picked up. Later we went to the new and improved Georgia St. playground. It's not really new, but the water part is new...and it ROCKS!

It's also the day that our neighbors, the Barnabys, are leaving for Denmark. They're moving there, but they'll be back to visit next summer. I got a few pics before they left. I'll see you on Facebook Susan!!!!

Day 2

Our second day in, and it's definitely a beach day. Spent most of the day down there. Caught up with a lot of the neighbors about what's been going on, while we've been gone. Word travels fast around here, so everyone knew that we had sold our place.

Long Beach - Day 1

So, it's our last summer in Long Beach. Well, it's our last summer at this house anyway. We've had to sell this house so we can buy a new place in the city. We've been renting for 2 years in the city, and it's a good time to buy again. Unfortunately, that means we have to sell our place here at the beach...the closing is in September. We will definitely miss this place. We've got some great neighbors, and being 7 houses from the beach has been awesome.

Calvin had the week off from school last week, so the boys and I were trying to find something fun to do every day. One of the days we went over to the Central Park Zoo. Here are a few shots from that day's adventure.

Halloween in Central Park

There were a bunch of things going on in the Park for kids, the weekend before Halloween. There was a pumpkin patch, and a haunted house to name a few.

My friend Anne's brother Jack was there as a contruction worker/zombie. He recognized me, but didn't want to step out of character, so I didn't find out until months later that he saw me. Just by chance, I happened to get a photo of him.
